Build your life around what matters most

By |May 30th, 2018|Productivity|0 Comments

Summer has not officially started, but the weather is hot and humid, the kids are out of school, and I have vacation on the brain. So much so, that I was thinking about the question that always seems to plague me right before leaving town: Do I commit to work during my travels or do I completely disconnect?

The article below, by author and businesswoman Arianna Huffington, explores this topic and provides some great suggestions. It also gets me thinking about how email has sadly morphed from a productivity tool to a technology that keeps us from being our most productive […]

Lots of Doing

By |May 15th, 2018|Creative|0 Comments

I recently began taking pottery classes at a local shop down my street. It’s been a very fun, messy adventure that I’ve been doing as part of the roux ‘go look’ challenge (I speak a little about that challenge here). The pots don’t always come out how I anticipated but I love the creative process and how it allows us to learn new things and grow skills over time.

Pots Made with Creativity in Franklin TNAs an artist, I often hear from others how they could […]

GLS 2018 coming soon!

By |April 17th, 2018|Growth, Team|0 Comments

The Global Leadership Summit (GLS) is scheduled for August 9-10, 2018 and we at roux are looking forward to our annual retreat. Held in Chicago, IL and broadcast all over the world in approximately 600 satellite locations, GLS shows leaders of all types of organizations how to apply Christian principles in business situations. This year they expect nearly 450,000 people to participate.

Did you know that most data breaches are opportunistic rather than targeted? I certainly didn’t until I attended a technology conference and learned so much during a session on the topic of cyber security. I am sharing some of the things I learned but all credit goes to the SMC3 conference and the panelists.

Cyber security is:

  • People
  • Processes
  • Technology

It is NOT just technology! Many companies think it is just technology and do not know what to do or how to respond when a breach occurs.

In the event of a breach or […]

Let your heart crack wide open

By |March 5th, 2018|Growth|0 Comments

When I was visiting NYC this past weekend, I went to a yoga class with a dear friend of mine. As we prepared our mats and settled in for the experience, we both waited anticipating what this experience would have in store. My mind was anxiously thinking about my rusty my downward facing dog pose and trying to remember if I put on deodorant. Regardless of those racing thoughts, I decided to just do my best and live presently in the moment.

Soon after our sweet instructor, Petra, welcomed us and began […]

roux’s review of SB LII

By |February 5th, 2018|Team|1 Comment

As many of us eased into our new found roles as Philadelphia Eagles fans, the roux team was eager to cheer on our team and decide on the best 2018 Super Bowl commercials. The game did not disappoint as our (new) favorite team took the victory in an exciting and hard-fought match.

Many of the commercials were great, too. Our top picks are below.

    • Dirty Dancing  An NFL ad featuring Eli Manning and Odell Beckham Jr. is a perfect mix of awkwardness and hilariousness proving no one puts OBJ in a corner.
